Holding an event in Westminster

The City of Westminster is home to some of the most iconic event locations in the world.

Charity walks

Although there are some instances where applications aren’t required for Charity Walks (please see document below for more info), the majority will require you to submit an event application with us and go through our standard process. We receive approximately 30 applications for charity walks every year, ranging from low impact to mass participation events. Timescales for your application will depend on the scale of your event.

When planning your charity walk, some things to consider include:

  • your route, and whether your desired route goes through streets or areas that do not fall under our jurisdiction
  • start, finish and checkpoint venues, of which we have several parks and open spaces that could be available to hire as one of these venues
  • if any special considerations need to be explored, for example if it was a night walk
  • participant management, and how you as the event organiser controls this
  • if any infrastructure is required
