On-demand food waste service

During the summer 2023, we launched an on-demand food waste recycling service for residents living in suitable properties in these wards:

  • St James’s
  • West End
  • Marylebone

All residents living in suitable properties in these wards should now be able to book an on-demand food waste collection service. If you have any issues booking a collection slot, please contact the Recycling Team at [email protected] or contact our Call Centre on 020 7641 2000.

Residents living in these suitable properties are able to book a two-hour collection slot for their food waste to be collected directly from their property's main communal front door.  We are offering this service to properties in these wards that have limited space to store food waste recycling bins.

How to use the on-demand food waste service

Once you sign up for the service, we will deliver a kitchen bin, a roll of liners and an instructional leaflet to you (each roll has 52 liners on it).

Start using your kitchen bin to recycle all your food waste, including plate scrapings, meat and bones and coffee grounds.

When your silver bin starts to get full, please book your two hour collection slot or contact our call centre team on 020 7641 2000. Book your two hour collection slot.

Hand over your food waste to our crew during your collection slot from the main communal front door to your property.

Please note:

  • our crews cannot come inside your property to collect the food waste directly from your flat door.
  • you need to be at home to hand your food waste to our crew; you cannot leave the food waste outside your property for collection.

Booking on-demand collections

The easiest way to book your two-hour collection slot is to book online. Visit our resident service portal, type in your postcode, select your property and then choose your collection slot.

Alternatively, please call our contact centre on 020 7641 2000, and our team will book the slot for you.

Once you book your slot, you will receive the email confirmation the following day and a text reminder 24 hours before the collection slot.

The service runs Monday to Friday from 8am to 4.30pm. However, the dates and times shown on the booking system are based on the most efficient ways our crews can make the collections. If you have any queries, please let the Recycling Team know [email protected]

Please cancel or make any changes to your booking online by midnight the day before your collection is due. Cancellations or changes made online after this point cannot be updated on our system, and our crews will attempt collection.
