December is here and it’s almost time for Christmas. Members of the Tollgate community came out in cheerful spirits for a socially distanced evening around the Christmas tree. The tree was donated and installed jointly by WCC and Randall & Rittner the head lessor, for a community led initiative working together for the benefit of residents.
All thanks to George, one of Tollgate’s residents who led and organised the lovely evening that brought everyone together for a special time of carols and to switch on the tree on this community led initiative.
The year has undoubtedly been challenging, and many people have not been as fortunate to be in the company of loved ones. Everyone was happy to be able to socially distance and meet their neighbours with a great sense of diversity from children, elderly residents, new home owners, young couples and returning residents. This was of course a perfect opportunity to bring people together to get to know their local community and wish each other a Merry Christmas.
Highlight of the evening was the Christmas cheer, decorations and the opportunity to take some lovely pictures with residents whom we were delighted to share this special evening with. That brought a strong sense of community and togetherness, to which everyone is grateful for.
We would like to remind everyone to maintain social distancing, wash your hands and wear a mask in order to help reduce the spread of the virus. Remember to check on loved ones and vulnerable groups, as well as sprinkle love wherever you are.
We are very keen to continue to work with residents now and in the future to help create a great place to live and vibrant communities. Find out more information on how to get involved.
