Greening Westminster projects

Find out about how the Greening Westminster fund has helped our communities build green spaces.

Grand Union Health Care Centre

The Grand Union Health Care Centre, an NHS GP practice near the Grand Union Canal, secured £2,000 in funding from the ‘Greening Westminster’ programme in 2023. The project aimed to revitalise and brighten up the entrance to the centre to improve visitors’ wellbeing and climate resilience along the busy Harrow Road.

The Hammersmith Community Gardeners Association supported the project, which offered its expert knowledge in horticultural projects. They supported members of the community to undertake the planting.  The space now includes four large planters with biodiverse planting to provide year-round interest.
