Design Review Panel members and chairs

The panel will advise on high quality, sustainable design across the City of Westminster

Why apply?

Westminster is an amazing place, with 250,000 diverse residents, over 50,000 vibrant and vital businesses and three-quarters-of-a-million people working here every day. Many of its places and buildings are nationally if not internationally familiar, including:

  • the government precinct around Whitehall
  • the heart of the West End, including Covent Garden, Soho and Mayfair
  • large residential areas such as Belgravia, Pimlico and St John's Wood.

There is also pressure for growth and change within the city. The ambitions to sustainably deliver more commercial and residential floorspace bring with it unique challenges, given the heritage sensitivity of our townscape. The nature of the city also brings intense scrutiny and a high profile to many development schemes.

We have a unique opportunity to lead in setting excellence in design standards. We will create a sustainable city model which can be experienced by millions of people and leverage influence worldwide. We have landowners and occupiers who are well-resourced and committed to this agenda, affording an opportunity to be able to innovate at pace.

Benefits of joining the Design Review Panel:

  • support design excellence on some of the highest profile developments in the country
  • work collaboratively with leading practitioners in similar fields and to build your profile
  • shape the high quality built environment of a world city
  • help bring a diversity of perspectives
  • help us to become a net zero city by 2040
