Application criteria
Applications will only be considered whilst a vacant market pitch or vacant isolated pitch is being advertised above. They will be considered on a first come, first served basis except where two applications are received for the same pitch on the same day. In such cases, applications will be prioritised according to:
- the goods for sale - see details under each specific market for more information
- whether the application is from a start-up business or where the applicant is part of an enterprise scheme
- the days for which the applicant has applied; preference will be given to applicants applying for a greater number of days, particularly where market occupancy is lower on certain days of the week
- whether the application is from owners or operators of adjacent retail premises who wish to extend their offer out onto an existing designated pitch
