We are delighted to announce that the Out and About ticket scheme will resume in January 2025. Scroll down to find out how to become a member and receive updates on the Out and About ticket scheme.
Out and About offers complimentary tickets to Westminster residents aged 65 or above to attend cultural events such as concerts, exhibitions, and film and theatre shows. You need to become a member of the scheme to receive tickets.
Previous offers have included tickets to the Turner Prize Exhibition at Tate Britain, Eaton Square Concerts, Young Classical Artists Trust concerts at Wigmore Hall and English National Opera dress rehearsals.
How the scheme works
Out and About runs for a season every year. Once you are a member, you will automatically receive the programme of ticket offers by email or by post if you do not have an email address.
The scheme is based entirely on voluntary donations from our partner organisations, so the choice of seating and the number of tickets is limited. Please only book on to events you are sure you wish to attend.
Become a member
To become a member, contact the Cultural Partnerships team by emailing [email protected] with your name, age, postal address, telephone number and email address.
If you use a wheelchair or any walking aid, please let us know so we can inform each venue. Staff are happy to make any arrangements necessary. If you do not have internet access, you can send an email or book event tickets by requesting a member of staff to help you at any of Westminster’s thirteen libraries. Please only call us on 07779 567408 for emergencies, Mondays to Wednesdays 9am to 5pm.
Seating at ENO dress rehearsals is restricted to an area which is high and steep. These tickets are not suitable for anyone suffering from dizziness or vertigo. Please check event details for any other access restrictions.
Request tickets
At the start of the season, members will receive a full programme of events. Once received, you can start applying for tickets by contacting the Cultural Partnerships team by email at [email protected]
Out and About offers a maximum of two tickets per household for each performance. Guests should also be residents aged 65 and over unless you require a carer.
If you would like two tickets, submit the name of your guest or carer when you apply. You will only receive confirmation if you are allocated tickets. Please do not repeat your request for tickets unless you must cancel or change your options. All tickets should be collected at the venue 30 minutes before the performance starts.
Waitlists
We highly encourage you to add your name to the waitlist as we will reallocate cancelled tickets promptly to ensure full attendance for all events.
Cancellations
Please cancel tickets if you are no longer able to attend an event. If tickets are not taken up, venues may become disappointed by the lack of visitor numbers. This could lead to them withdrawing their generous free ticket donations, which will disable us from running Out and About programmes in future years. Thank you for your cooperation.
