Belgravia Neighbourhood Plan referendum

A residential referendum in respect of the Belgravia Neighbourhood Plan was held on Thursday, 22 February 2024 from 7am to 10pm at a polling station located at The Caledonian Club, 9 Halkin Street, London, SW1X 7DR.

The referendum question was:

  • ‘Do you want Westminster City Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Belgravia to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

Result

94% of those casting ballots voted in favour of the plan, with a turnout of 14.82%.

Following the successful referendum result, the Belgravia Neighbourhood Plan formally became 'made' and now forms part of Westminster's statutory development plan alongside the Westminster City Plan 2019-2040 (produced by the council), other 'made' Neighbourhood Plans (produced by designated Neighbourhood Forums with support from the council), and the London Plan (which is produced by the Mayor of London and provides strategic policies for all of Greater London).
