If you feel that you or someone close to you is in a mental health crisis, you can act right away. Free, expert, confidential support can be accessed by the helplines below.

Helplines

  • North West London, NHS Single point of Access helpline, call 0800 0234 650 - this 24/7 helpline is run by trained clinicians in your local area who can offer support and signpost you to services.
  • Mind: the local Mind team are based in schools and youth clubs and offers sessions if you’re experiencing anxiety or low mood. You can speak to the team by emailing [email protected], or find more information on the website.
  • Samaritans: 116 123 - when you need someone to talk to
  • The Mix: 0808 808 4994 - support and counselling for under-25s via online, social and mobile.
  • Shout: text 'SHOUT' to 85258 – 24/7 text support for when you can’t talk but need a voice.
  • BEAT: 0808 801 0677 - supports those struggling with eating disorders.

Specialist support or talking therapies

  • Insight Health and Wellbeing - services that can help with a range of support, including drug and alcohol treatment, prevention and early intervention, digital intervention, wellbeing, offending and parental substance use.
  • Eating Disorder Support - a community-based service that supports you if you have a suspected or confirmed eating disorder diagnosis.
  • CAMHS - the local CAMHS team comprises a range of professionals who can support, such as therapies or medication, if you are seriously struggling with your mental health. The service aims to offer an initial assessment for most children within four weeks of referral. Any professional can refer a child or young person to CAMHS; this is usually a GP, a member of the school's staff or a social worker.
