Succession rights for street trading licence holders

Apply to nominate succession rights

Street trading licence holders can nominate a relative who may apply for a street trading licence on the same terms and conditions as the licence they held, should they die, retire from the age of 60, or be unable to continue street trading due to certified medical reasons.

If the nominee applies for a street trading licence on the same terms and conditions as the previous licence within 28 days of the licence holder passing away or surrendering their licence, we will not grant a licence to any other person.

The relative may be the wife, common law wife, husband, common law husband, father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, stepfather, stepmother, son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, stepson, stepdaughter, brother, sister, half-brother or half-sister of the licence holder

Alternatively, the nominee may be a current employee of the licence holder who has worked for the licence holder for at least five years at the time that they apply for the street trading licence.
