The collections at Westminster Reference Library are very unique. You’re not going to get them in any other public libraries. I’ve been working here for over three years and even today, I keep discovering some amazing treasures and some fascinating books that are unique and wonderful.
We have an art and design collection that is of national significance and includes magazines from the early 1800s and up to the present day. We have whole runs of British Vogue. We have beautiful books on design and art.
I believe libraries are really important because they are open, free for anyone to use, and a place for reliable information, which is so key now. It’s a place to connect and helps to connect a community. Especially in London where it can feel very dispersed.
We have staff that have specialist knowledge in music, arts, design. If you’re studying or interested in arts and culture, it’s a great resource to pop in.
