Fly tipping and enforcement

Find out how to report a fly tip you see, how to report someone you have seen fly tipping and how to avoid fly tipping.

Alternative ways to dispose of rubbish

Fly tipping rubbish can be easily avoided to create a better environment for all. It is often done to avoid paying for the proper disposal of waste. The cost of cleaning up fly tipping often falls upon taxpayers and private landowners.

You can dispose of rubbish by:

  • using council services such local recycling centres or bulky waste collection [Link to appropriate internal pages]

  • leaving out rubbish at the correct times and days

  • handling commercial waste the right way

  • contacting the appropriate service for removal of hazardous waste from households [Link to ‘Hazardous waste’ WCC page] free of charge, such as asbestos, paint, pesticides, white spirit, etc
