Types of review and the review process
Design reviews will be organised where recommended by officers and at a stage after initial discussions have taken place between the applicant design team and the council’s planning and design officers. Schemes to be reviewed will already have been submitted either as a pre-application submission or a live planning application.
There are three main types of design review:
- Full review
- Follow-up review
- Chair’s review
Officers will advise which type of review is most appropriate and bespoke may be arranged in some circumstances.
The reviews take place once a month and a maximum of three schemes are reviewed. Typically, five members of the panel attend each review, including a Co-Chair. The panel is drawn from the pool of experts. Full details of the review format can be found in the terms of reference and our forward schedule of design review panel dates is set out below:
- First meeting, 26 October 2023 (monthly thereafter)
