Safer Westminster Partnership

How the Safer Westminster Partnership works to reduce the risk and harm of crime and antisocial behaviour.

Partnership Strategy

The Safer Westminster Partnership (SWP) Strategy details our priorities to work together with our residents, businesses, and visitors to make Westminster safer.

Our vision is to make Westminster safer by working in partnership to reduce the risk and harm of crime and anti-social behaviour. We do this by focusing on protecting the most vulnerable within our communities.

The SWP Strategy identifies three broad strategic priorities to address in the coming years:

  • making the West End a safer place for our visitors, residents and businesses.
  • tackling serious violence and exploitation, and
  • creating safer, more confident neighbourhoods.

We also recognise that some areas of our work cut across all these priorities, and throughout this strategy, we have brought a spotlight to focus on those.

Underpinning these priorities are five cross-cutting themes that run throughout the strategy:

  • targeting high harm and repeat offenders.
  • supporting victims and reducing repeat victimisation.
  • intervening early to detect and prevent crime and disorder.
  • giving local communities a voice, and improving confidence
  • sharing information and working effectively together.
