Delivering social value as part of our Fairer Economy plan
Our Social Value Impact Report for 2022/23 brings together the noteworthy contributions made by property developers and the council's suppliers through programmes that directly benefit local communities. These include employment opportunities, skill development initiatives, and environmental improvements.
At a time when many of our residents are struggling with the cost of living crisis, it is vital that we can demonstrate how we are making a difference and working in the best interest of the people across Westminster.
The report includes inspiring stories such as:
- a generous donation of bicycles to community organisations,
- supporting elderly residents, nurturing the career aspirations of school children, and empowering residents with disabilities through a diverse range of events
- suppliers who have supported over 560 Westminster residents into jobs
- injecting £15m into the local economy by spending in Westminster
- delivering over 9,000 hours of volunteering, contributing to Westminster Communities
