Free meals over the winter

A number of local community organisations are providing free meals over the winter. Find out more by visiting the Winter in the City hub and viewing our interactive map.

Monday

Westminster Chapel

The SPACE:

  • Operate a community market on Monday - ticketing from 10am, market open from 10.30am until stocks last (around 2.30pm), some deliveries are possible, depending on availability
  • Serve hot food on Saturday, ticketing from midday, serving from 12.30pm to 2pm

Hafs Academy

  • Hafs Academy is currently offering supermarket and local grocery shop voucher vouchers
  • No referral is necessary. However, an application does need to be completed before attending. The service is available to those who live in the Church St Ward,  are on benefits or low income or are unemployed. Those who live in the ward but do not meet the criteria are still welcome to apply, but applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Mary Smith's Pantry

  • Shoppers pay £5 per visit and will be able to have access to food, including fresh fruit and vegetables and store cupboard favourites that will often value £20/£25 or more.

Tuesday

Notting Hill Methodist Church (Kensington and Chelsea Foodbank)

  • You will need a voucher from a support agency such as Citizens Advice. Once you receive this, you can exchange it for three days of emergency food.

St Michael's, North Kensington

  • WandUK distributes food from this location. People are asked to register in advance, either online or in person

Hallfield Food Bank

Pimlico Angels

  • Every Tuesday until 30 July 2024, Pimlico Angels will be providing a free weekly warm meal and an activity from 5.30 - 7.30pm at Grosvenor Hall, Vincent Street, SW1P 4HL
  • Activities will include board games, cookery classes and dance classes
  • No need to book, just drop in
  • Great way to meet others in your community and enjoy a hot meal

Wednesday

St Matthew's Food Bank

  • Open to local residents only (within a 1/2 mile walking distance of the church).
  • No voucher or booking is needed.
  • Each person is welcome to take up to 10 items, a maximum of 1 from each category. Coffee and tea are also served.

  • Granvillle Community Kitchen Food Aid is now open for collections
  • Hours: Wednesdays 3pm to 4:30pm and Fridays 4pm to 5:30pm

The Abbey Centre Pantry

  • For a weekly subscription of £5, members of The Abbey Centre Pantry will be able to have access to food, including fresh fruit and vegetables, and store cupboard favourites that will often value £15-20 or more

Dalgarno Trust

  • Foodbank operates every Thursday. Registration is required and can be done online or in person between 10am and 1pm. Food bags then collected from the entrance at an assigned time between 2:30pm and 6:30pm. Open to local residents only.

Westbourne Park Food Pantry

  • For a small weekly subscription of £5, members of this pantry will have access to food, including fresh fruit and vegetables, and store cupboard favourites that will often value £15 to £20. Membership is open to the community, and local families are strongly encouraged to join.

North Paddington Food Bank

  • North Paddington Food Bank is currently offering supermarket food vouchers, alongside food collection in partnership with Westbourne Park Food Pantry by referral only
  • Referrals can be gained from support workers. If you do not have a support worker, referral partners are Citizens Advice Westminster, Age UK Westminster (for people over 50), Asylum Aid (for recent migrants and asylum seekers), Shelter Westminster (for people with housing difficulties) and Cardinal Hume Centre (for families with children).
  • Food collections are from Westbourne Park Pantry, opposite Royal Oak Tube station, Porchester Road, W2 5DX, Thursdays, 1pm to 3.30pm and 4pm to 5.30pm
