In It to Win It, rewarding estates for recycling

You can find out about how to win prizes for your community by recycling more.

How does it work?

We will be monitoring the recycling bins on your estate by using sensors that measure the amount of recycling.

If the recycling increases and the contamination decreases you could win money for your estate. All recycling placed in bins with an “In it to Win It” sticker on count towards prizes.

Smaller estates can earn a £500 reward; larger estates (350+ flats) can earn an £1000 reward. Estates can win more than once throughout the year. You can find out when your estate has won a prize by subscribing to our In It To Win It newsletter.

For you chance to win prizes remind yourself what can and can’t go in the recycling.

Some common contaminants include waste in black bags, food, polystyrene, crisp and sweet wrappers and plastic film. These must go in the general waste bin. If your bin has anything in it that cannot be recycled, then the recycling crew will not be able to empty it and the whole bin it will not count towards prizes.
