Submit a City of Sculpture proposal

Thank you for your interest in City of Sculpture. To submit your proposal for a sculpture to be temporarily displayed at one of our City of Sculpture sites, please provide us with the information below.

Following informal approval, planning permission will be required.

Sculptures will be selected based on:

  • suitability within the surrounding environment
  • work that enhances the surrounding area
  • site availability

Requirements

  • a risk assessment for the installation and derig of the sculpture must be provided to the council before it is installed to ensure it is structurally safe and secure
  • sculptures must be suitable for outdoor display eg surfaces should not be prone to corrosion
  • sculptures must be covered by your own insurance and a copy of your PLI must be provided to the council before installation
  • the gallery or artist is responsible for the delivery and derig of sculptures - sculptures must be removed at the request of the council once planning permission has expired and you are responsible for obtaining the relevant permits required
