Parking on single and double yellow lines

Single and double yellow lines indicate that parking restrictions are in place and no waiting is allowed

Single yellow lines

You can't park on single yellow lines during the hours of control. For single yellow lines in Westminster controlled hours are generally 8:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday or Monday to Saturday. Specific times vary by location.

Outside of these times you can park unless there are kerb markings. However, you should not park adjacent to a dropped kerb, even if this is marked by a single yellow line.

The hours of control are displayed on large signs as you enter each controlled parking zone (CPZ) or will be displayed on kerbside plates if they vary from the CPZ.

Double yellow lines

You can't park on double yellow lines at any time.

Kerb markings

Single yellow marks on the kerb indicate there is a loading ban during certain times as displayed on the nearby street sign. Please check the times on the sign.

Double yellow kerb marks mean no stopping at any time.

Loading and unloading

Different loading and unloading rules apply depending on the type of vehicle.
