Householder application

You may need to apply for permission if you are proposing to alter or enlarge a single house, including works within the boundary or garden of a house.  

For example:  

  • extensions or conservatories 
  • loft conversions  or dormer windows  
  • garages, carports or outbuildings  
  • basement excavations or swimming pools
  • walls or fences  
  • vehicular access including footway crossovers  
  • satellite dishes 

This excludes application for works to flats. For flats, see full planning permission.

Before you make your application, please read the checklist below to help prepare your application and  ensure it is processed as smoothly as possible. You can use this checklist if you are using any of the following forms

  • householder and listed building consent
