Westminster Council, in collaboration with the Mayor of London has successfully launched one of the first local Infrastructure Coordination Development Services in London. Providing essential support for developers in the planning and delivery of projects of all sizes in Westminster and reducing the impact of construction and public works on local communities.
The scheme, run in collaboration with the Mayor of London, sees the placement of an in-house Infrastructure Coordinator who works closely with developers to help design, manage, and deliver their projects – ensuring that they stitch neatly into local infrastructure networks, with shorter timeframes and limited disruption.
The service will help a host of schemes, from healthy street schemes to vital local housing, to effectively fit in with the local environment and will promote collaboration with projects and neighbouring boroughs to expedite the process. Developers will be able to draw on the coordinator’s essential local knowledge and key industry contacts to effectively navigate the planning stages, as well as ensuring a key channel of communication between all stakeholders from start to finish.

Westminster’s new service operates as the development wing of the Mayor of London’s Infrastructure Coordination Service, a scheme which collaborates across the city on key schemes including streets and highways works, utilities, and planning.
