Commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Normandy landings

Today the council is joining the country in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Normandy landings, which saw the launch of Operation Overlord and the beginning of the fight to liberate north-west Europe from Nazi occupation.

Our Lord Mayor of Westminster Cllr Robert Rigby officially rose a #DDay80 flag at City Hall:

"Today we remember those that gave their lives 80 years ago today on #DDay, to remember today and in the future. "
