The 'Know Ball Games in Westminster’ pilot scheme aims to work with communities to strengthen a culture of play, physical activity, leisure, and sport across housing estates, parks, and open spaces by removing prohibitive play signage.

We believe that participation in play, physical activity, leisure, sport, and play can be truly transformative, inclusive, and inherently positive. Being active and healthy goes hand in hand with an improved quality of life.
The aim of 'Know Ball Games in Westminster' is to remove the 'No Ball Games' signs in a selection of housing estates and parks and open spaces and replace them with a new culture which encourages everyone to use the space for play and be physically active.
The pilot scheme will be delivered across two stages, consultation and pilot. There will be three key consultation phases which will include drop-in sessions, an online survey and community meetings around the following housing estates and parks chosen for the pilot:
Housing pilot areas
We have identified three areas for the pilot scheme:
- Queens Park Estate and Court
- Hallfield Estate
- Churchill Gardens Estate
Drop-in sessions
The first phase of the consultation starts during the week commencing the 21 June with the following Housing Estates drop-in sessions:
Queens Park Court
Tuesday 20 June 5pm to 7pm, Queens Park Court Hall, Droop Street, W10 4QB
Thursday 22 June 2pm to 4pm, St Jude’s Hall, 71 Ilbert Street, W10 4QH
Churchill Gardens
Tuesday 27 June 5pm to 7pm, South Area Service Centre, 137 Lupus Street, SW1V 3HE
Thursday 29 June 10am to 12 noon, Churchill Gardens Hall, Churchill Gardens Road, SW1V 3AG
Hallfield Estate
Monday 3 July evening 5pm to 7pm, West Area Service Centre, 155 Westbourne Terrace, W2 6JX
Thursday 6 July morning 10am to midday, Pickering Hall, Pickering House, W2 6HF
