Twin Cities

The Twin Cities programme pairs cities across Europe to share their knowledge and ideas on how to reach climate neutrality.

The City of Westminster is one of forty European cities selected as ‘Twin Cities’ to collaborate in achieving climate neutrality by 2030 through the EU Cities Mission. We have been paired with 'Pilot Cities' Leuven in Belgium and Lund in Sweden.

The Twinning Learning Programme lasts 20-months and focuses on sharing knowledge and good practices between selected cities.

The programme is based on a practical, knowledge sharing approach from Pilot Cities to Twin Cities, while also enabling a peer learning framework, allowing Pilot Cities to also learn from Twin Cities’ experiences.

This structured and expert led programme aims to enable a two-way dialogue between Pilot and Twin Cities. The focus is on our shared climate neutral ambitions and activities tackling multiple emissions and other systemic barriers.
