The Westminster Cycling Strategy provides details on the range of projects that the council will be developing over the coming years to encourage more people to take up cycling, to improve facilities for existing cyclists and to improve safety.
A key project for Westminster will be the implementation of a Central London Cycle Grid. This will be a new network of cycle routes across Central London that will be developed in partnership with Transport for London (TfL) and other authorities in Central London. More information about the proposed Central London Cycle Grid is available from Transport for London.
In the City of Westminster, the Central London Cycle Grid will consist of a mixture of ‘Superhighways’ and ‘Quietways’. A number of routes have been prioritised for implementation by 2016, subject to more detailed feasibility, design work and consultation.
Quietway from Bayswater to Edgware Road (Western section) (closed 3 March 2017)
Quietway from Southbank to Bloomsbury (closed 23 September 2016)
