Determined admission arrangements for 2024/25

Information about the admissions policies of schools in Westminster for the 2024/25 academic year.

The law requires that all state schools must approve their admissions arrangements in advance of parents applying. We are responsible for the admissions for community schools, with the governing body responsible for academies and voluntary aided (church) schools.

All schools must carry out formal consultations of not less than six weeks before they make changes to their admissions arrangements. Whether there are changes or not, admissions arrangements for all schools must be published on their website by mid-March each year.

We are the admissions authority for seven community primary schools:

  • Barrow Hill Junior
  • Edward Wilson
  • Essendine
  • George Eliot
  • Hallfield
  • Robinsfield Infant
  • Queens Park

Pan-London coordinated schemes

The Pan-London Admission System coordinates applications to all state-funded primary and secondary schools across Greater London and surrounding counties. Parents/carers can apply up to six schools in any area using one form and list their chosen schools in order or preference. Schools will then consider each application against their published admission criteria with no knowledge of the parent/carer preference order.

The coordinated system will eliminate preferences until it reaches the highest potential offer that can be made on the National Offer Day. The system has substantially reduced the number of children that receive multiple offers or no offer at all.
