Change4Life for families
Help your family stay active and healthy
Change4Life Westminster encourages and supports children, young people and families across Westminster to make healthy lifestyle choices, making it easier for children and young people to eat well and be active.
Children are recommended to be physically active for at least 60 minutes every day, with 30 minutes of that activity taking place outside of school. It’s important to eat healthily and look after our own and others’ wellbeing. We know this can be hard as a result of COVID-19 and given the cost of living which is why the following resources might help.
Scan, swipe, swap with the NHS Food Scanner app
Looking to improve your family’s health this new year? You can do just that with the help of the NHS Food Scanner App. The App is the ideal health hack for families, helping you to swap food and drinks that are higher in sugar, saturated fat and salt to healthier alternatives with a choice of thousands of “Good Choice” products.
With a simple scan of the barcodes, you can see how much sugar, saturated fat and salt is in everyday food and drinks. The App suggests healthier swaps, by encouraging you to choose thousands of “Good Choice” products.
