The Residents' Council and the Residents Area Panels structure represents the formal generic consultation with residents from section 105 of the Housing Act 1985. This does not inhibit any individual consultation a resident may be entitled to if directly impacted by a change in housing policy or procedure.
Our Resident Area Panels are one of the crucial ways that our residents have an impact on shaping the services that we deliver.
Key service areas are selected to be examined within the panels to look into the detail of performance and other residents’ experience. The panels then work collaboratively with officers to bring about real tangible change for the benefit of all residents.
Each Resident Area Panels is area based meaning that if local issues arise, they have the knowledge and links to look into these issues.
There are four Resident Area Panels in total; in North, Central, West and South.
Led by residents, the panels also receive key support from our officers, this underpins our approach to officers and residents working together to deliver the best possible service.
