Our new mobile housing service, Westminster on Wheels (WOW) has been visiting residents on their doorstep and helping resolve housing issues.
Since its launch in April 2019, WOW has visited 12 estates and helped more than 850 residents. We’re proud of the feedback received to date where 95% of residents surveyed expressed they were happy to have access to WOW, 86% stated that WOW had met their expectations and 72% said we resolved their issue.
The weekly service which complements our area service centres, has made it easier than ever for our residents to come and talk to us about their housing issues. Mary Commodore, a resident of Abbots Manor estate visited WOW on 19 June. She said:
“I had an issue with my bathroom which I was going to report at the Lupus Street office. When I received the letter that Westminster on Wheels was going to be on my estate, I thought I would give the service a try. It is much easier to speak with staff face to face and I’m happy that a surveyor will be visiting my property to inspect my bathroom.”
