Volunteers needed to help make our estates bloom

Bulb planting

We’re launching our first ever estate wide planting project – and we’re looking for green fingered volunteers to plant over 1,000 daffodil bulbs across our estates.

Whatever your age, background or gardening prowess, all residents are welcome to dig in and help us to make our estates an even better place to live. Community is at the heart of everything we do, so creating beautiful, green spaces is just one of the many ways we can celebrate our homes and create places everyone can enjoy.

Urban Growth Learning Gardens will be joining housing services in planting daffodil bulbs in 12 estates. Come spring 2020, the bulbs we plant now will create a rainbow of colour for the community to enjoy.

The two-hour gardening events will take place across 12 estates in October - November 2019. They will be on days the Westminster on Wheels mobile housing unit lands, as well as weekends to ensure everyone can get involved.

Dates will be announced soon. To sign up, or find out more, please contact Ian Merriman, Resident Engagement Team Leader, on housing.enquiries@westminster.gov.uk or 0800 358 3783 (freephone).
