Bringing colour to your gardens

Working with residents, community volunteers and partners, we planted almost 37,500 bulbs last autumn across our estates to bring a rainbow of colour for residents to enjoy this spring.

This estate-wide planting initiative is now lifting spirits and our sense of community is stronger than ever.

Several residents' associations worked to bring this planting initiative to fruition in their local areas, turning unused spaces into beautiful displays (as pictured below).

This was all made possible with help from Urban Growth Learning Gardens and our expert estate gardeners Continental Landscapes.

How we are adapting our gardening services during Covid-19

We have reduced some services such as non-essential pruning and clearing of leaves, however a mobile service remains on call for emergencies like hazards and access issues.

Rest assured, gardens will be watered and extensive growth including grassed areas will be kept under control but only where safe and sensible to do so.

We also continue with seasonal planting and bedding maintenance across estates, where safe to do so, to bring more colour and layers to our gardens for all to enjoy. Plants for the summer include Geraniums, Petunias, Marigolds, Impatiens, Dhalias, Lobillias, Helichrysiums and Begonias.

What about routine repairs and window cleaning?

The repairs service continues with issues being assessed case by case with priority being given to emergency repairs. Emergency repairs are critical issues which could pose an immediate health and safety risk, such as fire, loss of electricity or water supply.

You can find out more about emergency repairs online here. If your repair is an emergency, contact us and make use our online services to report and track repairs.

Our annual exterior window cleaning will start from mid-May, where this service is provided, with safe working guidelines strictly followed. This work includes exterior windows to communal areas only and not windows of individual flats. Pole systems and abseiling may be used to reach some areas from the outside and you will be notified a week before we start work on your building.
