The Young Westminster Foundation

The Young Westminster Foundation is a cross-sector partnership which look to support young people in Westminster through sharing information offered by a variety of services and organisations across the borough. YWF have recently launched Our City, a platform to promote events and opportunities for young people across Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea.

City Lions

City Lions is a programme run by Westminster Council and offers opportunities for 13 to 16-year olds access to exclusive events within the creative industry. Joining City Lions is a great way for young people to gain work experience and build their creative skills. They will be running a series of virtual Summer programmes - sign up for one of their programmes here.

Westminster Youth Hubs

There are a number of Westminster Youth Hubs to get involved with for a variety of age ranges. Youth Hubs are a great way to make friends and learn new skills. Check out some of the youth clubs in Westminster below to find one for you. 

Avenues  

Avenues youth project was founded in 1979 and are based in North Westminster. The club has a site with great facilities including classrooms, a kitchen, a dance studio, a recording studio, a radio room and a large hall. Check out what is on offer from Avenues here.   

Four Feathers  

Four Feathers youth club is situated next to Regents Park and holds membership from 500 young people! The club welcomes young people aged 8-19 from Marylebone and surrounding areas within London. Four Feathers run a senior and junior club from Tuesday to Friday after school with a range of activities including boxing, IT, music, Dance, sport, arts and crafts and much more. St Andrews 

St Andrew’s is the world’s oldest youth club, founded in 1866. The club is based in South Westminster and is open to ages 5 and above. St Andrew’s run a range of activities from archery to music production, cookery to chess, screen printing to photography, karate to arts and crafts. The club work with an impressive list of external partners including the English National Opera and Tate Britain. Find out more about membership and activities on their website here

Amberely  

The Amberely youth project is open to all young people aged 8-19 who live in Westminster. The project runs activities from Tuesday to Thursday between 4pm and 7.30pm. Activities include photography, cooking, table tennis, football, careers advice, construction training and drama workshops. For more information about the club, click here.  

Churchill Gardens  

Churchill Gardens provide a space for young people aged 8-19 to take part in activities such as music production, sport and games, as well as development programmes such as healthy relationships, inclusion and diversity training. Active Westminster

Active Westminster was launched by Westminster City Council to encourage residents to be more active. Check out their website for information about sites in Westminster where you can exercise and their online videos and tools for working out at home.

Slenky

WCC have partnered with Slenky to help young people access real-life opportunities and connect with leading brands and organisations – both locally and across the UK. Opportunities are advertised on their Westminster Hub.

Westminster Family Information service

The Westminster Family Information Service can offer free, impartial advice for parents and carers of children aged up to 19 (and up to 25 years for those with additional needs).

Local SEND offer and participation

Our local SEND offer provides children and young people (and their families) guidance and service information relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Mental health and wellbeing support leaflet

A wide range of support is available by phone, text and online for children and young people who need help with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

The majority of this can be accessed by young people directly (with no referral required), including a range of 24-hour resources and support.

Mental health and wellbeing support for individuals

We offer different support services in Westminster.

The Mental Health Support Team in Westminster

This service is for children and young people requiring support with mild to moderate mental health issues, such as anxiety, low mood, friendship or behavioural difficulties.

Westminster CAMHS

Children and young people requiring support with complex mental health difficulties can access community mental health services through Westminster CAMHS.

This support can be delivered in a variety of ways including behavioural therapy, psychiatry, psychotherapy, CBT and Family Therapy.

The Team delivers the core CAMHS offer as well as targeted CAMHS support to more vulnerable groups of children and young people.
