Ed Watson was today announced as the new Executive Director of Growth, Planning and Housing for Westminster City Council. He will start his new role in January 2016.
Ed has a strong track record in planning and regeneration and has 25 years of experience in local government. He joins the council from the London Borough of Camden where he has held the position of Director of Culture and Environment since 2014.
Ed previously worked for five years as the Assistant Director of Regeneration and Planning for the London Borough of Camden and as Planning Programme Manager for the Local Government Association. He also worked as the Head of Development Control at the London Borough of Lambeth.
Ed will report directly to Charlie Parker, Chief Executive of Westminster City Council. His portfolio will include growth, planning, conservation, heritage, housing, strategic transport and infrastructure, management of the council’s property portfolio and delivery of the council’s economic development strategy on skills, employment and business growth.
