Working with your community
We came to the community with early proposals for new homes at Westmead in January 2020. We spoke to dozens of residents over two drop-in sessions and met with local community groups to ensure their thoughts were considered as well.
Your feedback has been invaluable in shaping these update designs. We have heard your concerns and aspirations and made changes to our proposals to design a development with the community at its heart.
The early sketches we presented to you in January can be seen here.
Scroll through some quotes from residents during our consultation in January.
Your feedback so far
The height of the proposal is my main concern
Thank you for giving the neighbourhood the opportunity to give their input to the project
The early proposals are sensible, and in my opinion respond well to the needs of the community
Our main concern is the construction noise
The green space to the west of the proposed development could be enhanced by the provision of a well-lit path
I hope there is traffic management during construction
It would be good to plant bee friendly flowers at various points
Positive for the new residents
Better management of the trees is welcome
Our commitment to you
If the development goes ahead, we commit that it will:
- provide a minimum of 35% new affordable homes
- reflect the architectural significance of Aldridge Road and Leamington Road Villas conservation areas
- include a range of homes to suit a range of households and families
- provide an environmentally conscious and energy efficient design, meeting sustainability guidelines in the London Plan
