The Vitality Westminster Mile is ideal for people who are new to physical activity as well as being a great bank holiday weekend day out for all the family.
“As parents it’s great to see the excitement in our children in the run-up to the race and afterwards they talk about it for weeks.”
“It’s a highlight of the year for me. The setting, racing along the Mall and around St. James's Park, is as good as it gets and to join in with all the crowds of people is very special.”
Derek Allen, 73
There are races for all ages and abilities:
We want young people in the city to grow up leading healthy and active lives. So this year the council and London Marathon Events are offering 300 free places to local schools.
The event takes place on Sunday 28 May and is an ideal bank holiday day out for all the family.
The places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so please let your students and their parents know about the offer as soon as possible.
All under 12s run free in the family category – so under 12s do not need to apply for the free places.
Free entertainment and activities in Green Park throughout the day:
Any proceeds from the entry fee will fund local community sports projects to get more people involved in physical activity.
The Vitality Westminster Mile is organised by London Marathon and Westminster City Council in partnership with Royal Parks.
