Victoria is undergoing significant redevelopment to provide new homes, shops, offices and improved transport facilities.
The Council's adopted Victoria Area Planning Brief provides guidance for development in the Victoria Area whilst the current overarching planning policies that cover Victoria and the rest of Westminster are set out in the Council's City Plan: Strategic Policies and Unitary Development Plan (UDP).
Street Improvements and Designing Out Anti-Social Behaviour Consultation
As part of the Westminster Cathedral Piazza Action Plan, the council made a commitment to improve the Piazza and its environs with the aim of delivering a better environment for all those who live, work and visit the area.
With this in mind, the council has been developing proposals to design out anti-social behaviour to address some of the issues that are of concern to residents and businesses. This consultation document outlines these proposals and the benefits they should bring, with the express aim of helping to improve the environment and make it safer for all.

Network Rail are progressing a master-plan for the Victoria Station complex. Two of their key objectives are to relieve congestion and improve connectivity between the station and surrounding areas.
The principle objective of London Underground's Victoria Station Upgrade scheme is to increase capacity of the underground station and improve passenger flows through and around it.
There will be a new northern ticket hall provided at the junction of Bressenden Place and Victoria Street and the existing southern ticket hall is being enlarged with new escalators and lifts. Most of the street works taking place to the north of Victoria Station are to facilitate the VSU works.
Land Securities own and are redeveloping a number of sites on the northern side of Victoria Street. Their 'Nova' scheme, one of the largest single schemes in south Westminster, involves the redevelopment of a 2.5 hectare site bounded by Victoria Street, Buckingham Palace Road, Bressenden Place and Allington Street - to the north of Victoria mainline station, to provide new homes, shops, offices and restaurants. The scheme is phased to allow for completion of the VSU works on the eastern side of the site.
Phase 1 of this scheme was subject to a Compulsory Purchase Order in 2011 to allow for comprehensive redevelopment of the site.
Established in April 2010 the Victoria BID is a business led and business funded body set up to improve the local area.
