Has your vehicle been removed?

Westminster City Council does not remove vehicles for being parked in contravention of the parking restrictions.

However there are circumstances in which we may need to relocate a vehicle to an alternative on-street location in the vicinity of where it was parked.

It is possible though that your vehicle may have been removed by:

  • a neighbouring borough if you parked on a street bordering Westminster in contravention of their regulations
  • Transport for London if you were parked on a red route

Your vehicle may also be removed if:

  • it is considered to be abandoned
  • It is untaxed.

If you can’t find your vehicle on street

Contact Tow-away Removal and Clamping Enquires (TRACE). This is a free online service which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. TRACE will advise which car pound the vehicle has been taken to and provide information on the procedure for the vehicle's release.

You can also text 'TRACE' followed by your vehicle registration mark to 66663*.

Alternatively you can contact TRACE Customer Services Helpdesk on 0845 206 8602* if you cannot contact the service online.

* Charges may apply
