Teacher recruitment

There are several ways to apply for teaching positions in Westminster schools:

  1. Westminster jobs page - the jobs page is used to advertise current vacancies in the borough; these are divided into business groups. For all school vacancies, select the schools business group. This page also has a job alerts service which can keep you up to date with all current vacancies as they are posted.
  2. School websites - all schools within Westminster have their own school website – accessible to students, staff and parents. Most will include a jobs page and here you will be able to access a current list of vacancies.
  3. Times Educational Supplement - in addition to the paper, there is the TES website and the TES New Teachers website which is dedicated to supporting trainee and newly qualified teachers through the initial years of their career. The site offers advice, jobs, resources and information on school placements.

For primary and early years first teaching posts

You may submit an application to the central pool database for posts suitable for NQTs starting in September. Successful applications will be made available to schools in Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster, according to the applicant’s preferences. Newly qualified teachers or teachers due to qualify with QTS this academic year are invited to apply to the pool which will close on 19 February 2018.

Applications which meet the selection criteria will be shortlisted and made available to schools who will then invite suitable candidates for interview according to the school’s requirements. Acceptance to the pool does not guarantee employment.

All offers of employment will be made by the individual school and will be dependent on accurate information being provided, the award of QTS, satisfactory checks and references.
