School admission appeals

If it hasn't been possible to offer your child a place at your preferred school, you have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel. Read this step-by-step guide to help you in the appeal process.

An appeal form can be requested from the council, or the school if they organise their own appeals. For advice, please contact the admissions team in the first instance.

Appeals timetable for 2017 entry

The below timetables may not apply to all schools in Westminster or other council areas. Please check the timetable of the individual school you want to appeal to. 

Primary reception appeals

National Offer Day - 18 April 2017

Appeal forms for community primary schools are dispatched from 22 May 2017

Appeals to be lodged for community schools by 19 June 2017  .

Appeal hearings scheduled throughout July 2017.

Secondary Transfer 2017

National Offer Day - 1 March 2017

Appeals for schools administered by the council are dispatched from 29 March 2017.

Appeals to be  lodged by 12 May 2017.

Appeal hearings scheduled throughout June 2017.
