For two centuries Savile Row in London's West End has been the international home of bespoke tailoring, with a community of over 100 tailors.
Rising rents and business rates and the changing nature of the row pose a threat to their livelihoods.
The Bespoke Tailoring in London's West End study was undertaken in response to development pressures on tailors' premises
We are using the findings of the study to further engage with the landowners, the tailoring industry and agencies such as the London Development Agency and the Central London Partnership to ensure the future of Savile Row as the international home of bespoke tailoring.
We are leading the Savile Row Strategic Group to action ideas that revitalise bespoke tailoring.
This group brings together tailors and landlords.
One task will be to review Westminster's existing planning policy and offer guidance to support the bespoke tailoring industry and safeguard Savile Row's unique character.
