Helping to end rough sleeping in Westminster

The hidden network

Help end rough sleeping in Westminster

Everyone needs a safe and stable place to live and no one should be forced to live on the streets. A hidden network of charities and professionals is working to end rough sleeping in Westminster. With your support, we can help people who are rough sleeping leave homelessness behind.

Change that lasts a lifetime

A hidden network of dedicated professionals and volunteers is working around the clock to end rough sleeping in Westminster. They provide services such as counselling, befriending and addiction recovery, and they help with securing long-term employment and accommodation.

The network's partners are Turning Point, The Connection at St Martin's, St Mungo's, Look Ahead, West London Mission, The Passage and Westminster City Council's specialised services.

Despite Westminster spending more resource on the issue of rough sleeping than any other council in the UK, more still needs to be done. You can make a big difference by giving to the registered charities working with us to help more people off the streets for good.

Charity partners

Find out more about the Hidden Network's charity partners and the work they do to help people who are rough sleeping in Westminster to leave homelessness behind.

St Mungo's

St Mungo’s are one of the largest providers of outreach services in England, going out each night to help individuals off the street. They offer a bed to people who are homeless and support them at every step of their recovery from homelessness.

Look Ahead

Look Ahead delivers homelessness services including two large hostels in Westminster. Their services include support for former rough sleepers who may be older or have mental health needs.

The Passage

The Passage offers a range of services to support homeless and vulnerable people and enable them to move on to live safe, happy and fulfilling lives. Their services include immediate support, three residential projects and homelessness prevention projects aimed at reducing the risk of repeat homelessness.

The Connection

The Connection at St Martin's empowers those who are on the edges of society to take control of their lives by providing practical support, designed to help people recognise their own strengths, recover from crisis and move on – working with their clients, not just for them.

Turning Point

Turning Point provide drug and alcohol support and treatment to rough sleepers. They work on the street, in hostels and in day centres to reduce the harm caused by drug and alcohol misuse and to help rough sleepers into housing and on into sustained recovery.

West London Mission

WLM Seymour Place provides a health service for people living on the streets in partnership with the NHS and St Mungo’s. This includes a street homelessness hub where a range of services help individuals identify their strengths to help them move away from homelessness.

How you can help

Chat

Acknowledging someone who is sleeping rough can reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation. It could be a smile or a wave or, if you feel comfortable, say 'hello' and have a conversation.

They all play a major part in improving someone's self-esteem and helping them feel less alone.
