Report an unlicensed HMO

Please complete this form to report a unlicensed house or flat in multiple occupation (HMO). All properties shared by 3 or more, unrelated, private tenants required a licence to ensure management, amenity and safety standards (such as fire safety) are adhered to.

Tenants living in unlicensed properties may be able to claim up to 12 months’ rent back through a Rent Repayment Order (RRO). Anyone operating HMO’s without a licence are also liable to an unlimited fine if convicted or a financial penalty up to £30,000.
