Make your planning application

The quickest and easiest way to make your planning applications is online via the Planning Portal.

Apply online

You can pay by BAC, Debit card, Credit card.

There is step-by-step advice and your application will be immediately sent to the council. You will receive an automatic acknowledgement of your submission, and your application will be transferred to us the same day.

Validation checklists and forms

You can find information on different types of applications and the checklists for these below.  You will need to read through the list of requirements relevant to your application type before submitting it online.

If you are unable to apply online, you can download the application forms by following the appropriate link below. You will need to provide at least 4 copies of the application and all supporting documents. The completed applications needs be posted to the address at the top of the form. Applications submitted by post will take longer to review than online applications.

Checking and validation of your application

Once we receive your application, we will you contact by email or letter within 10 working days. If your application is valid, we'll tell you how it will be progressed. You'll be given the name and contact details of the officer responsible for the applications.

If your application is invalid, we will advise you what further documentation or plans we need.
