Weighbridge operator certificate

To operate a public weighbridge, you must have a certificate of competence issued by the Chief Inspector for Weights and Measures for the licensing authority.

Certificates are issued under the provisions of the Weights and Measures Act 1985.

2. What happens next

Tacit consent

Tacit consent will apply if the application is unopposed following 60 working days after receiving the application. This means that you will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard from the licensing authority by the end of the target completion period.
