NHS workers and care workers
Following the easing of lockdown measures, the government has updated their guidance on free and discount parking schemes, advising councils to bring these schemes to an end over the coming weeks.
We are therefore making the below changes.
Category 1 Parking – this will expire at 11.59pm on the 24 May 2021
This provides free parking in our pay-to-park bays via a parking dispensation for front-line NHS staff whilst on duty.
Category 2 Parking – this will expire at 11:59pm on the 24 May 2021
This provides parking in one of our pay-to-park bays, all day, for other NHS staff whilst on duty for a capped fee of £15 per day.
Government national free parking scheme
We will still continue to honour the government’s national scheme of free parking for frontline health and social care staff, which runs until 21 June. If you still require access to free parking, please discuss the matter with your employer. View further guidance.
Whilst one of the government’s parking passes is being arranged, we will allow you to park for free, without time limit, in our Pay-to-Park bays as long as you display supporting evidence in your vehicle windscreen. Acceptable evidence would consist of: a photocopy of your existing work pass, with any sensitive information removed, or a letter of evidence on headed paper from your employer. The government will end this scheme on 21 June 2021.
