Westminster on Wheels - more dates announced

Fri, 16/08/2019

The Westminster on Wheels bus is ready for a second tour of 13 local housing estates to provide expert support on everything from repairs to advice, on education and employment opportunities.

The next visits will run from 20 August to 27 November. You can find the dates at the end of this article.

The Westminster on Wheels service was introduced after CityWest Homes came back under Westminster City Council management on 1 April this year. The mobile housing service is dedicated to helping residents closer to their homes and offers another easy way to answer residents’ questions and provide support.

The bus has already visited 12 estates in its phase one launch (from 1 April to 26 June), where more than 850 people made use of the offer. Feedback from residents has been positive, with 95 per cent of those surveyed sharing that they were happy to have access to the new service. Furthermore, 85 per cent said the service met their expectations and 72 per cent had their problem resolved.

The weekly service is an addition to our area service centres. The bus is open between 10am and 7pm.

Residents can come on board to:

  • report or enquire about a repair
  • find out about employment and education opportunities
  • meet members of their housing team
  • meet members of the welfare reform team who can let you know where to get help and advice on money matters including Universal Credit
  • receive advice from our anti-social behaviour experts
