With only one week to go before the 26 November 2019 registration deadline for the General Election, Westminster City Council is reminding residents who have not yet registered to go online and register before it’s too late.
The Council has been working to remind voters that they cannot take part in the election unless they have registered. Anyone who has not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible.
Westminster residents, who are registered to vote, will have one vote in either the Cities of London and Westminster constituency or the Westminster North constituency.
You must be 18 or over on 12 December and a British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen resident at an address in the UK in order to be eligible to vote at the General Election.
You can register to vote online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote before the registration deadline on 26 November. It only takes a few minutes to complete the application.
Those who aren’t able to get to their polling station on 12 December can arrange either a postal or proxy vote – full details are online at www.westminster.gov.uk/general-election-2019.
On election day, 12 December 2019, polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.
