Notting Hill Carnival 2016 takes place on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 August.
As the biggest event of its kind in Europe, we know Carnival has a major impact on those who live and work along the Carnival route. Carnival is organised each year by the London Notting Hill Carnival Enterprises Trust Ltd (LNHCET). Westminster City Council works closely with the LNHCET, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the police and emergency services to minimise the impact of the event on residents and the local area.
The council does this by providing public toilets, managing street trading sites, enforcing unlicensed activity, removing rubbish from the Carnival route each night and offering a free garden and basement cleaning service after the event to residents within the Carnival footprint.
There will be road closures in the Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park areas over the bank holiday weekend. The road closures will also make traffic around the event areas busier than usual.
