Trim Talk

Trim Talk aims to get men talking about their feelings in local barbershops on Harrow Road.

The idea that speaking about your emotions is form of weakness can make a lot of men hide their feelings. This suppression can result in increased levels of stress, anxiety, and depression, often leading to destructive behaviours such as substance abuse.

About the project

The Trim Talk project proposes to enhance men and boys' mental health, particularly addressing the impact of attitudes toward mental well-being.

By working with local barbershops along Harrow Road, the initiative aims to create safe spaces for open conversations about wellbeing.

This involves training barbers as mental health advocates and organising monthly events to raise awareness and provide access to support services.

The project is part funded by the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
