Get a head start and nominate your school for an award before the end of term to get the recognition you deserve for your outstanding efforts in sport and physical activity. 

Nominate your school

Criteria

This Active School award is open to primary, secondary and special schools and Further Education Colleges in the City of Westminster.

Please show how the school has:

  • improved activity levels amongst all students by working with others and using the Physical Education (PE) premium funding to improve the quality of PE and school sport
  • achieved at least two hours of PE and School Sport each week for all pupils
  • given access to a range of competitive sport opportunities to all students throughout the year 
  • achieved Healthy Schools bronze, silver or gold

Why nominate?

Shortlisted schools will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony at Lord’s Cricket Ground in November with the chance to meet sporting legends. We will promote the efforts of the winners online, in our publications and through the media. You will also receive a certificate to display in your school and a sports-related prize.

Last year’s winners

St. Mary of the Angel’s Primary School

Last year’s winning schools offers its pupils the opportunity to develop their skills across many sports including tennis and cricket through specialist coaches. After-school and lunchtime sport including free or subsidised places are also available. Sport is championed through four sports captains from Year 6 to encourage more children to take part.

Highly commended

Barrow Hill Junior School and Westminster Academy were highly commended.

Nominations close on Monday 14 September.

About the awards

The ActiveWestminster Awards recognise those who change lives through their outstanding contribution to sport and physical activity. Nominations across all categories will launch later this month.
